I'm posting this about OutlawProdux SniktShop as a warning to anyone else thinking about commissioning products from him. I commissioned a Scarlet Witch headpiece and cape for my wife on 6/8/12 with the agreement that I would have both in hand by 8/6/12. Even though it was a short time frame, Jim advised that it could be done.
Until he was gone on a trip for 4 weeks in July and didn't work on anything. Fair enough, people are allowed to take vacations and trips, nothing to worry about. And on 8/7 told me the headpiece was done and the cape was being finished by his new seamstress. I still had a few weeks until FanExpo in Toronto on 8/24 , so it wasn't that big a deal, I had built in the extra time because life happens. The hope that we would have it disappeared though when Jim stopped communicating for weeks again, and I didn't hear back until 8/29 that the cape STILL wasn't done, his new seamstress was causing problems. Finally, and only at my insistence, did he send the headpiece on 9/13, a full month after I was supposed to have it, and with the indication that the cape would be sent within the week even if he needed to drive to the seamstress to get it, or my money for it would be refunded. Once I had the headpiece in hand, I agreed to wait another week as the headpiece *IS* of a very good quality and looks good with the other pieces my wife and I had already bought.
TWO MONTHS LATER and I still don't have the cape OR a refund, and Jim has gone completely silent in replying to me by either email or facebook, even though he's prolifically posted on his own facebook and tried to sell several other items through it. Now today, I posted this same post to my facebook as well as Jim and Outlaw Produx's pages, specifically commenting on a picture of MY headpiece that Jim had made. Well now I'm blocked from both pages, so it's probably a good guess that I'm never getting the cape or my money back, placing this firmly into theft territory as far as I'm concerned.
In short, if you're thinking of doing business with OutlawProdux, DON'T. Jim seems to overstretch himself in taking commissions and is unable to deliver them by deadline as by his own admission to me, he had 155 items on back order as of 9/14 , and apparently it's impossible to get a refund out of him for items not delivered as he seems to cut off all contact. Since ordering the pieces, I'm seen numerous posts on the company facebook page asking him to check his messages and get back in touch with various people, who I have to assume weren't getting their items on time either, or possibly trying to get commissions set up that he wasn't responding to.
