Greetings to all,
I've been following the posts on some of you guys on and off for the past few years now, and I just couldn't help but think back to the time when I was either 8 or 9, circa 1982, I was at a local rodeo near my Indiana hometown, and I first caught glimpse of a guy in full cylon body armor. I was SO blown away, I just couldn't help but think, "Cool! That's me".
Now, let's fast forward to 1991, when I was in my last year of high school, and while watching Batman: TAS on TV when I first saw the Clock King make his debut on his own self-titled episode. Somehow, I just fell in love with the character, a real bad#$@, but with manners, who also happens to be very misunderstood, but doesn't take any $%*! from no one. So, when I had heard a few months ago there was going to be a convention/comic book show coming to my area, I thought, why not start small with a villain from Batman's world that I can relate to, something I can make a splash with (and have LOTS of fun doing it as well)?
Plus, I also happen to earning min. wage too. So, for me, this really ought to be an easy costume to make while on a budget. However, I would like to know any tips on making an hourhand cane, if there's any sculpting or weathering involved, or something I can buy secondhand at my local Goodwill or any other thrift store. I also happen to wear prescription lenses, so I also need to know how to make clip-on sunglasses with the clock hour hands on them.
Any tips? Comments? Ideas? Suggestions? It would be GREATLY appreciated.
